Diane Keaton is peak Diane Keaton, i.e. extremely annoying, in this movie. She can’t use technology and fumbles three different cakes in the movie. I usually don’t mind her perfect mom that always knows best but can’t work a cell phone schtick and I’ve seen this movie many times, but I really couldn’t deal with her this time. It was borderline offensive the way she interferes with Mandy Moore’s love life. Here is a trailer for those of you who have not had the pleasure of seeing this movie:

There is a scene where Mandy Moore is walking alone in the rain and a song start with “I woke up and wished that I was dead.” It’s a very uncomfortable introduction to the scene. The music coordinator or whoever picks that should reevaluate. Also, who has a Grandma named Moses? Was their Grandma Harriet Tubman?
